What is the Planned Parenthood prescription discount card program?
The discount card program provides potential discounts on a wide range of eligible prescription medications. This can be especially beneficial for those without insurance or with high out-of-pocket costs for prescriptions. Through our price search tool, you can find the best price and location for a prescription, get a copy of the discount card printed or sent to your phone, and take it to that pharmacy to save money. It really is that simple.
Where can I use my discount card?
The Planned Parenthood prescription discount card can be used at over 60,000 pharmacy locations nationwide including major chains like Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, Kroger, Publix, Meijer, Costco, and Giant Eagle.
How much money will I save?
The price of a drug may vary from day to day based on pharmacy, location, and negotiated price. While we cannot always guarantee savings, on average, card users can see savings of up to 80%.
Is this insurance?
No. This discount card is not insurance or an insurance replacement. The discount card cannot be combined with any form of Medicare and/or Medicaid, or with any commercial insurance.
If I have insurance, can I still use the card?
Yes. Individuals with insurance may find better prices for their prescription or find a better price for a prescription not covered by insurance. The discount card can be used in place of insurance to save money.
What happens if I have insurance and use the discount card?
The discount card would be used in place of insurance and the cost of your prescription using the discount card will not go towards insurance deductible or out-of-pocket maximums.
Can I use a Health Savings Account or Flexible Spending Account to pay for my prescription on the discount card?
If prescriptions are eligible expenses to be purchased with an HSA or FSA, then yes. We recommend checking with your HSA and/or FSA administrator to be sure.
Will Planned Parenthood receive my individual health information if I use the discount card?
NO! Planned Parenthood will not receive any of your protected individual health information. Prescription claims are processed at the pharmacy with a third-party pharmacy benefits manager. Our only goal is to increase access to healthcare through more affordable prescriptions.
Can the card be shared?
Yes! Share the card with anyone. Parent, grandparent, sibling, cousin, friend, significant other, anyone!
